Neoenergia – Oitis Wind Farm

Controlled by the Spanish group Iberdrola, Neoenergia has a history of more than 20 years in Brazil. Activities began in 1997, with investments in electricity distribution in Bahia and Rio Grande do Norte. Since then, Neoenergia has expanded its activities to be a long-term investor in the country. Today, the company is one of the most significant players in Brazil’s energy sector, with integrated and diversified operations. It has energy distribution, generation, transmission, and commercialization assets in 18 states and the Federal District.

Protagonizing the company’s energy transition and decarbonization strategy, Brazil’s largest wind power complex is being built, with an expected conclusion by 2023. Neoenergia | Oitis is formed by 12 wind farms, located in Piauí and Bahia. Once operational, the enterprise will have an installed capacity of 566.5 MW of clean and renewable energy, avoiding the emission of 1.2 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere for 20 years.

Among the construction outcomes were a substation and a transmission line to ensure that the energy produced in the wind complex will reach the final consumers.

And Netcon Americas was part of this important project through the supply, on an “EPC/TurnKey” basis, of the Operational and Corporate Networks of the Telecommunications System for the transmission facilities of the Oitis Substation, located in the Municipality of Dom Inocêncio – PI, and the respective Connection Bay at the Queimada Nova II Substation, located in the Municipality of Queimada Nova – PI.

The supply included the execution of the entire Project Management, the elaboration of the Design Project, and the delivery of equipment, materials, and specialized engineering services for the implementation and commissioning of the telecommunications systems.

Besides the integration of the systems, Netcon Americas also carried out, in its industrial plant, the assembly, the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), in the presence of the client, and the delivery of six Telecommunication Panels for the enterprise.
